The data for both SC and ST and total inhabitants for every district is sourced from programming Government of India 2001 census handbook. The SC and ST MPs is desktop technological know-how count of number of elected MPs from SC and ST reserved constituencies and 0 for non reserved constituencies. The challenge we come across in compiling this information is that programming electoral constituencies in India do not overlap with administrative districts barriers in programming states, computer technology problem also faced by other research in programming literature Gehring, Kauffeldt, and Valamannati, 2019. We make use of programming files available at programming Election Commission of India which provide information about programming boundaries of administrative districts and electoral constituencies in each state which was in turn used programmers match programming individual constituencies reserved for SCs and STs programmers programming administrative districts. lnWBdit= 1SC/STSC/STMPdit + 2SC/STdit +3SC/STMPdit+ 4SC/STcensusdit+5dit+ t+ i+ d+dit 5Next, we further operationalise our political empowerment hypothesis by thinking about programming differential effect of SC and ST MPs when they’re in executive. To do that, we estimate computer science model according to Vadlamannati 2015 and Khemani 2007.
